Korean style spicy salad

20130331-202519.jpg What goes perfectly well with scrumptious bulgogi? This spicy, tangy, sweet salad! Any type of lettuce will do as well as bok choy, napa cabbage and/or spring greens. You can cut the lettuce into small pieces and mix it with the sauce. Add more if needed.
>>> The key is the sauce: soy sauce(2), vinegar(2), honey(1), minced garlic(0.5), red pepper flakes(1-2), sesame oil(0.5-1), sesame seeds(1)

So easy to make!

[Restaurant Review] Rosemarino d’Italia – Alexandria, VA

Rosemarino d’Italia

This restaurant opened up literally two weeks ago. It wasn’t even on foursquare so I had to add it to check in! I get so excited when I see a new restaurant opening in the neighborhood. So, I went to check it out on its opening day 🙂

Home-made pasta! YES! I can’t say much about anything else yet because i went there only once and there aren’t even reliable reviews yet. But their pasta was cooked perfect with a lot of seafood – YUM! I’m a marinara sauce person 99% of the time but the linguini with white wine and garlic was fantabulous! 20130331-164158.jpg Best part? Their home-made tiramisu! You don’t even know that you even put it in your mouth. It just melts away 😉 I am definitely interested in going back to try their chicken piccata, which is supposedly really good as well! Loving my neighborhood ❤

Happy Easter!

Orange garlic chicken – simple but great!

This chicken dish isn’t anything crazy. It literally takes less than 30 minutes to cook this delicious chicken. (Hmm.. Did I just sound like Rachel Ray? 😉 )

20130324-203246.jpg
What you need (serves 2): 4 chicken thighs (deboned and pounded), 2-3 cups of OJ, 2-3 table spoons of minced garlic, jalapeño bits (I used 1/2 of a whole jalapeño)

Marinate your chicken in the ingredients above all together at least for three hours. Cook the chicken in a pan and season it with salt when cooking. BAM! Dinner is served!

I am not even sure if this is blog worthy but the chicken tasted so good that I had to post this for some novice cooks like me! A great dish is never impossible! You just gotta be willing to spend 30 minutes in the kitchen!

Hello, San Francisco!

Out trip to SF was short but sweet! Lots of baseball and lots of food!

There’s nothing better than Samgyeopsal after three straight days of baseball! That was our “last supper” in San Fran. SF has so much to offer. Can’t wait to go back. 🙂

What was the best thing from this trip? I met lots of baseball players in person such as Rodney from Tampa and Kevin Millar who used to play for Boston. However, to me, the most awesome thing was that I met Chan Ho Park, who used to play for the Dodgers! He’s a baseball legend in Korea! I am so excited to hang this picture with his autograph in my husband’s favorite room aka “sports room” 😉

Time to cook! Kitchen remodeling all done!

Yay! We’ve moved into a new condo and the kitchen was so ugly! Now it’s all done – including recessed lights – and I’m ready to cook again!

It’s a lot of noise, dust and cleaning (not to mention $$$$$$$$), but it’s totally worth it! Can’t wait to get new appliances!

This week, I’m in San Francisco, watching WBC baseball games and exploring restaurants! More posts to come 🙂 Happy weekend!
