Mina Kim was born and raised in Busan, South Korea. Busan is a bustling port city that is widely recognized for its local cuisine and sprawling markets. Mina has had a love of food from a young age and was raised on daily home-cooked โ€˜umma-bapโ€™ (momโ€™s cooking), always with the freshest ingredients available. She has lived in Northern Virginia since 2012 and enjoys the diversity of cuisine that the DMV (short for District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia) region provides. Mina often gravitates back toward Koreatown as a home away from home as a place to spend time eating, drinking and singing. You can take someone out of Korea, but you canโ€™t take Korea out of them!

MISSION STATEMENT
At Virginialicious, our mission is to tantalize taste buds with our curated culinary experiences while simultaneously nourishing the community we serve. We believe in the power of food to bring people together, create lasting memories, and celebrate the diverse flavors of the region. We strongly believe in a sense of community service โ€“ in fact, that was one of our inspirations to start our food tour, as a way to help local restaurants connect with more people. In the same spirit, we will donate a portion of all food tour profits to Food for Others. Food for Others is a nonprofit food bank and food rescue organization, working to help those in Northern Virginia who are food insecure. Visit Food For Others to find out more about their impacts.โ€‹
